Das Technische Bild

Dorothea Douglas studiert im Master Kunst- und Bildgeschichte an der Humboldt Universität zu Berlin und der Universität Basel. Derzeit arbeitet sie zur Rolle des phänomenalen Farbcharacters und der formalen Figuration in Darstellungen von Race in der frühen US-amerikanischen Malerei. Das Bachelorstudium der Kunstgeschichte schloss sie an der Freien Universität Berlin ab, wo sie als Mentorin der Architekturgeschichte tätig war.

Dorothea Douglas ist Mitglied der GRADE Initiative Ästhetik demokratischer Lebensformen an der Goethe Universität Frankfurt. Neben der Tätigkeit am Technischen Bild arbeitet sie an der Professur für die Geschichte und Theorie der Form des IKB. Zuletzt arbeitete sie als Projektkoordinatorin für den Curators Workshop der 12. Berlin Biennale.


Dorothea Douglas is a master’s student of Art and Visual History at the Humboldt Universität zu Berlin and the Universität Basel. Her current research centres on the use of colour’s phenomenal character in conveying racialized conceptions of subjecthood through formal figuration in early American painting. She completed her BA in Art History at Freie Universität Berlin, where she taught the Mentorium in architectural history.

Dorothea Douglas is a member of the GRADE Initiative Ästhetik demokratischer Lebensformen at Goethe Universität Frankfurt. In addition to her position at Das Technische Bild she also works at the IKB’s chair for the History and Theory of Form. Most recently she served as Project Coordinator at the 12th Berlin Biennial’s Curators Workshop.
